Tobi Fong - Manual Practitioner
About Me
I am currently in my third year of studying osteopathic manual therapy at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. The program challenges students, through the knowledge of anatomy and physiology, to problem solve in order to find and fix the cause of dysfunction. Upon graduation, I will have received a minimum of 1000 hours of hands-on clinical training and practice.
Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a holistic, patient-centred form of manual therapy that emphasizes the interrelationship between structure and function. It is guided by the principle that the body is a self-healing and self-regulating dynamic unit of function. Osteopathic manual therapy encourages this self-healing capacity by removing restrictions and obstacles that interfere with proper nutrition and drainage of the body's tissue. Treatment works to restore proper mechanics, balance, and vitality to the patient. Practitioners treat the body as a whole to find the cause of structural and functional disorders. It can be helpful for people who suffer from health concerns which include musculoskeletal issues, pain, headaches, sleep problems, digestive issues, injuries and other physiological disorders.
